Klaus Peter Wieters was born on February 20, 1940, in Germany. He completed a degree in materials science at the TU Dresden, where he was awarded a Ph.D.
Since 1971 he has been a senior scientific assistant in the materials science department. In 1989, Dr. Wieters became a professor at the TU Dresden and has been a research assistant there since 1990. He is a co-author of Powder Metallurgy book, written by Werner W. Schatt and Bernard Kieback.
He passed away on July 16, 2013, in Dresden.
