Dr. Keneth Easterling was born in 1935 in London, England. In 1957 he graduated in Engineering in London. From 1958 - 1963 he was a research officer with Central Electricity Research Laboratories, Leatherhead, England. From 1963 to 1967 he was student,and, later Assistant at the Institute of Technology Otaniemi Helsinki, Finland. In 1965 he was awarded Licentiale of Technology (Helsinki), and in 1967 he obtained his Doctoral Degree in Technology (Helsinki), thesis on "Nucleation of Martensite". In 1967-1969, he did his Post Doctoral Research at the Imperial College, Department of Metallurgy, University of London. From 1969 to his retirement he was a senior lecturer at Department Engineering Metals, Chalmers Tekniska Hogskola, Goetembourg, Sweden. From 1973-1992 he was teaching at the Luleå Tekniska Universitet, Lulea, Sweden, from 1991-1992 University of Exeter, Exeter, United Kingdom, and in 1990 Luleli Techn. Univ., Sweden. He has been working at problems of sintering since 1968, mainly applying the electronic microscopy method. He has published a great number of papers related to this field. He was a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (London, England), Swedish Technical Physics Society, the Finish Mining and Metallurgical Society. He passed away in 1992, UK.
