Vojin Mikijelj was born in 1932, Skoplje, North Macedonia, where he received his primary education. He is moving to Belgrade, Serbia, where he continues his education. In 1956 he is getting his B. Sc. from the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy of the University of Belgrade and in 1960 his M. Sc. in Economics from the Faculty of Economics of Belgrade University. Finally, in 1969 he obtained his D. Sc. from the same faculty as his B.Sc., the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy of the University of Belgrade. He was able and very successful in combining those two fields into techno-economics.
Prof. Mikijelj started his professional life in the Industry in Belgrade in 1957, where he stayed until 1959. He moved on to the Institute of Nuclear Sciences Vinca, Belgrade, Serbia, and in 1972 became a Professor on the Faculty of Economics in Kragujevac, Serbia. He stayed there until his retirement. Vojin Mikijelj showed some remarkable results in his research of Solid-State Sintering, and Economic Problems of Powder Metallurgy.
He was a full member of the International Institute for the Science of Sintering.
